Each year, Greater Rochester employers receive requests from students from the nineteen colleges and universities in our region interested in a summer internship to help them get experience and build knowledge. Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce is here to help the whole process from placement to payroll.

Greater Rochester Chamber’s CampusROC initiative is designed to connect students from our region’s nineteen colleges and universities with employers throughout the nine-county region. For employers still developing internship programs, the Internship in a Box guide makes it easy to launch a successful program and build your talent pipeline. Once a program is in place, CampusROC can help promote your posting to its network of students, and help hiring managers see access qualified students through student candidate spotlights.

Since most interns must be paid at least minimum wage unless the internship meets certain criteria, employers typically add them to their own payroll. This means those individuals must also receive certain statutory benefits, some of which have eligibility requirements, including workers’ compensation, disability, paid sick time, paid family leave, health insurance (for applicable large employers), etc.
