Greater Rochester Chamber Releases Statement Condemning Anti-Semitism and Hate
With the ongoing war in the Middle East between Israel and the terrorist group Hamas, innocent lives have been lost and others have been severely impacted. Concurrently, there has been a distressing surge in antisemitic attacks, spiking by over 400% since the October 7th Hamas attacks. According to the FBI, the Jewish community represents about “2.4% of the American public” and antisemitism accounts for approximately “60% of all religious-based hate crimes.”
And we stand with our Jewish community to condemn antisemitism as a reprehensible and intolerable form of discrimination that has no place in our society. The right to exist in peace and safety is an inherent and inalienable right for Jews across the world. It is crucial that we stand united in rejecting any form of prejudice, hatred, or violence directed towards the Jewish people.

Every innocent human being deserves to live in peace and security, regardless of their religion, identity, or background, and it is incumbent upon us to work towards fostering an environment where diversity is respected, and coexistence is upheld."
