You’re Invited: NY Smart Meters Open House
You’re invited to RG&E’s Smart Meter Open House at the town of Brighton offices on Thursday, November 3, from 5-7 pm located at 2300 Elmwood Avenue.
R&GE will soon be upgrading to smart meters throughout the Rochester area. Smart meters will be installed over the next three years in Rochester neighborhoods. All residential and business customers in our service area will receive our new electric standard smart meter and/or natural gas module.
Smart meters enable many benefits, offering greater convenience, more control and expanded choice in understanding and managing energy use. Smart meters measure detailed hourly energy use so monthly bills are based on actual use each month. With smart meters, RG&E will also be able to respond quicker to outages. Two-way communication allows for faster diagnosis and quicker response by pinpointing outages based on smart meter status. RG&E has also built new tools that can help customers better understand and manage their energy usage. Energy Manager, a new online tool, will connect customers with their energy use and customized recommendations to save energy.
Customers are welcome to come anytime between 5-7 p.m. to talk one-on-one with RG&E subject matter experts to learn more about smart meters and their associated benefits.
