Bowers is proud to announce the promotion of several outstanding team members. These individuals exemplify the firm’s core values of integrity, communication, proactive leadership, teamwork, and a commitment to quality and excellence. They have demonstrated exceptional dedication and skill, contributing significantly to our mission of delivering excellent service while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Their growth and achievements reflect the standards we hold as a company and our ongoing commitment to supporting professional development within our team. 

Audit & Assurance Promotions 

Ben Mayers, CPA, has been promoted to Supervisor. Hailing from Brewerton, Ben has been with Bowers for four and a half years. He earned a Master of Business Administration in Public Accounting from the State University of New York at Oswego. Known for his leadership and technical skills, Ben said, “I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and the support I’ve received along the way. What I enjoy most about working at Bowers is the supportive environment, great coworkers, and the chance to grow through new and challenging work.” 

Vivianna L. Hartley has been promoted to Senior Accountant. Originally from Syracuse, Vivianna joined Bowers nearly three years ago and has consistently shown initiative, focus, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. She holds an Associate of Science in Business Administration from SUNY Onondaga Community College, as well as both a Bachelor of Science in Public Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from SUNY Oswego. Reflecting on her journey, Vivianna shared that this milestone “represents the dedication, growth, and drive she’s poured into her journey with the firm.” She added, “I’ve had the opportunity to learn from an amazing team and grow personally and professionally in a culture that supports and challenges me.” 

Garrett Hassard, CPA, has been promoted to Senior Accountant. Garrett, from Oneonta, New York, has been with Bowers for two and a half years. He holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Accounting from SUNY Polytechnic Institute. Reflecting on his promotion, Garrett shared that he’s “honored to receive this promotion and grateful for the opportunity to grow within an organization that values hard work and development.” He added that this next step “reflects the guidance he’s received and the technical skills [he’s] built with the support of great mentors and coworkers.” 

Client Accounting & Advisory Services (CAAS) 

Alicia LaMere has been promoted to Accounting Manager. Alicia, from Brockport, New York, joined Bowers just ten months ago and has quickly become a key member of the CAAS team. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the State University of New York at Brockport. Speaking about her role, Alicia expressed enthusiasm for contributing to the department’s growth, saying she’s “excited to be a part of the growth of this department—we have a great team.” She highlighted that the best part of her position is “helping clients solve their problems and giving them the tools they need to run their business more efficiently.” Alicia also appreciates “the variation and flexibility; it keeps things new and interesting.” 

Nina Sullivan has been promoted to Senior Accountant. A native of Pompey, New York, Nina has been with Bowers for just one year and has already distinguished herself with her curiosity and drive. Nina shared that what she values most about working at Bowers is “the constant opportunity to learn and grow.” She added that it’s “genuinely motivating to work alongside people who challenge me to expand my skills.” Reflecting on her experience so far, Nina said, “I’ve gained so much knowledge already, and I’m excited to keep building on that foundation.” 

Administration 

Holly Kordek has been promoted to Senior Administrative Specialist. From Syracuse, Holly has been a valued part of the Bowers administrative team for nearly four years. She shared, “I enjoy the people I work with and the work I do.” Holly also noted her appreciation for Bowers’ culture, adding, “We’re encouraged to volunteer and take part in all the great Bowers events throughout the year.”
