ESCT Formalizes Longstanding Transportation Assistance Program for Security Personnel
Rochester, NY – July 28, 2025 — Enterprise Security Consulting and Training Inc. (ESCT) has announced the formal adoption of its Guard Transportation Advance Program (GTAP) into company policy. While the
program has quietly supported employees for some time, it is now being officially codified, standardized, and integrated into ESCT’s broader employee support framework.
The GTAP provides eligible security guards with short-term, company-covered transportation to and from their assigned posts when facing sudden vehicle breakdowns, transit disruptions, or other transportation-related barriers. Employees repay the cost through payroll deduction, with built-in safeguards to ensure repayment never places them below the federal poverty threshold.
The initiative was developed by Owens F. Shepard, President and CEO of ESCT, as a practical response to
real challenges experienced by working guards, especially those covering late or early shifts without reliable transit options.
“This isn’t new for us. We’ve always found ways to help guards get to work when life throws them a
curveball,” said Shepard. “What’s new is the policy structure that makes this support consistent,
accountable, and sustainable.”
With the formalization of GTAP, ESCT strengthens its stance as an employer that not only expects reliability
but actively supports it.
“We’re proud to lead with empathy and action,” adds Shepard “This program makes it clear: when
you’re committed to showing up, we’re committed to helping you get there.”
As part of its ongoing commitment to barrier reduction, ESCT is also exploring future solutions to support
employees who face additional access challenges, including the feasibility of 24-hour childcare partnerships for guards working overnight shifts.
