Is a Sustainable Business Roundtable Right for Monroe County?

A region rising together takes input and contribution from us all.

In today’s rapidly changing marketplace, the most successful businesses are those that collaborate and innovate – especially when it comes to efficiency. Sustainability is a hot topic right now—and it’s not just about the environment. It’s about how businesses stay competitive, resilient, and future-ready. That’s why Monroe County is asking local business leaders to weigh in on whether forming a Sustainable Business Roundtable (SBR) would help. It makes sense—when it comes to business, there’s no 'one-size-fits-all' approach.

If you’re a business owner or business leader in Monroe County, take 10 minutes to share your thoughts through a quick survey, and let’s make sure your voice is heard.

✅ Take this quick 10-minute survey
✅ Join a focus group to share your voice in more depth

Whether you're a small local shop, a nonprofit, a large corporation, or a public-sector organization, your perspective matters. Your input will help determine whether an SBR is a useful idea, and if so, what it should focus on to truly support business needs. By filling out the survey or participating in a focus group, you can ensure your industry’s challenges and priorities are heard, share what kinds of tools or support would actually help your business, and contribute to a process designed to help—not burden—the business community.

By bringing together businesses, nonprofits, and public sector partners, an SBR could foster collaboration and knowledge sharing around sustainability practices that support workforce well-being, environmental responsibility, and financial performance.
