Dancing with The Arc Slated for Thursday, June 5 at Innovative Field

ROCHESTER, NY - The Arc of Monroe will hold its third annual “Dancing with The Arc” event on Thursday, June 5 at Innovative Field, One Morrie Silver Way, Rochester. Doors open at 5 pm and showtime is 6 pm.

Five Rochester celebrities have been partnered with a person supported by The Arc of Monroe. Together, they have embarked on a magical journey to learn a fun dance. They’ve made their musical selections and are hard at work practicing their numbers; the duos will perform their dance for a panel of celebrity judges on June 5th. The event will be emceed by Scott Spezzano and Sandy Waters from 98.9 The Buzz. 

 

Tickets for Dancing with The Arc are $25 each and come with a $10 food and beverage credit for June 5th at the ballpark. Kids five and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at ArcMonroe.org/Dancing or at the door.

Rochesterians can vote for their favorite dance duo by clicking on their “Vote Now” button at ArcMonroe.org/Dancing. Each vote costs $5 and all proceeds go to The Arc Foundation of Monroe’s Aging With Grace, Aging In Place at Homewood campaign.

Dana Damiani and DeVaughn Winert | https://arcmonroefoundation.org/devaughndana/ 

Celebrity Dancer Dana Damiani is a Spectrum News 1 multimedia journalist and an avid Red Wings fan, attending games since she was 8 months old. She also enjoys playing volleyball with friends, planning her next trips around the world, and tasting the local breweries’ seasonal hits. Her The Arc of Monroe dance partner is DeVaughn Winert, an artist at Community Arts Connection. He enjoys shopping and going to the movies. When on the dance floor, you can catch DeVaughn performing his signature move, the booty shake!  

 

Cinnamon Jones and Damon Thomas | https://arcmonroefoundation.org/damoncinnamon/ 

Celebrity Dancer Cinnamon Jones is a local musician, specializing in classical, jazz, blues, gospel, and R&B. Not only has Cinnamon landed roles in productions like Dream Girls and Bubbling Brown Sugar, but she has also opened for R&B legends Rick James and Jeffrey Osborne. Her The Arc of Monroe dance partner is Damon Thomas, an artist at Community Arts Connection with hobbies that include making earrings, mixing music, and playing with the band 585 Vibes. He also enjoys sushi and watching the Philadelphia Eagles.  

 

Gio Battaglia and Georgana Morsch | https://arcmonroefoundation.org/georganagio/ 

Celebrity Dancer Gio Battaglia is a multimedia journalist/reporter with News 8 WROC, beginning his journey in news as an intern and working his way to telling stories on-air. While outside the newsroom, Gio enjoys singing at open mic nights, shopping, and Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift. His The Arc of Monroe dance partner is Georgana Morsch, a LifePrep@Naz participant, taking part in college classes, clubs, and internship programs at Nazareth University. Georgana is not only a perfect match for this competition as she loves to dance but also for her partner as she is a die-hard Swiftie.  

 

Nancy Calder and Dave Seeley | https://arcmonroefoundation.org/nancydave/ 

Celebrity Dancer Dave Seeley is a former senior advisor to assemblymember Joe Morelle and has a heart for his community, spending five years working as the elected Town Supervisor of Irondequoit. He is currently the Executive Director of Rochester Works. His The Arc of Monroe dance partner is Nancy Calder. Nancy takes part in The Arc’s Ballantyne Day Services, where she loves to dance and exercise, but also kick back and watch birds. Nancy is a huge fan of Justin Timberlake, citing “Sexy Back” as her favorite song from the ‘NSYNC alum.  

 

Dave Long and Jessica Faucett | https://arcmonroefoundation.org/jessicadave/ 

Celebrity Dancer Dave Long has served as Monroe County legislator representing parts of Irondequoit for the past three years. When not serving his community, Dave is a department administrator at the University of Rochester Medical Center. His The Arc of Monroe dance partner is Jessica Faucett, an artist at Community Arts Connection who loves collecting Beanie Boos and watching the Red Wings. She loves listening to Michael Jackson and “Defying Gravity” from Wicked.   

 

This year’s choreographers include The Arc’s Shelley Ball, Carly Cerasuolo and Julie Keeney, along with Nazareth University student Grace Burkin.

This year’s costume designers include The Arc’s Charmaine Bynoe-Norsen and Caprial Pecchia, along with Josean and Mikey Vargas-Rodriguez, proprietors of Luci & Dona on Monroe Avenue in Rochester.  

 

This year’s judges include Rochester Television Legend Don Alhart, The Arc of Monroe President and CEO Tracy Petrichick, The Pirate Toy Fund Executive Director Otto Harnischfeger and Dancing with The Arc Alumna Gina Maiuri.
