Rochester, NY – Excellus BlueCross BlueShield has earned a strong 4-star rating from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for its Commercial HMO/POS/PPO/EPO health plan, bolstered by a strong performance across a range of preventive care, maternal health and behavioral health measures.

The NCQA Health Plan Ratings evaluate plans nationwide on clinical quality, member experience and health outcomes. Excellus BCBS’s results demonstrate a continued commitment to helping members access preventive care and improving health outcomes across the communities it serves.

Among Excellus BCBS’s strongest areas of performance were preventive care and women's health measures. The health plan received top ratings across multiple pediatric well-care measures, including:

• 5-star performance for well-child visits in the first 15 months of life
• 5-star performance for well-care visits for children ages 15-30 months
• 5-star performance for well-care visits for children and adolescents
• Strong performance in childhood and adolescent immunization measures
• Strong performance in BMI assessment for children and adolescents

The health plan also demonstrated exceptional results in maternal health, including:

• 5-star performance for postpartum care
• Strong ratings for prenatal checkups
• Strong ratings for prenatal immunizations

Additionally, Excellus BCBS’s performance in behavioral health follow-up measures was significant, reinforcing the organization's commitment to supporting members' physical and mental health needs through coordinated care.
