Dan Meyers to be Honored With the 87th Rochester Rotary Award

Daniel M. Meyers will be the 87th recipient of the Rochester Rotary Award, the oldest and most prestigious civic award in Rochester. The award recognizes community members who personify Rotary’s “Service Above Self” motto and who demonstrate exceptional community spirit, touch the lives of many citizens, serve as a positive role model, and share wisdom and knowledge to empower others.
Rochester Rotary is honoring Dan Meyers for his more than 50 years of community service and philanthropic support. As president and CEO of Al Sigl Community of Agencies, Meyers worked to grow opportunities for inclusion for tens of thousands of people and families across the region.
A steadfast community champion, Meyers has contributed his leadership and passion to numerous organizations, including – among others – the Rochester General Health System Board of Directors, Rochester General Health Care Services (Rochester General Hospital) Board of Directors, St. Bernard's School of Theology and Ministry Board of Trustees, Nazareth University, Fringe Festival, St. John Fisher University, George Eastman Museum, Catholic Diocese of Rochester Executive Committee, Causewave Board of Directors, EquiCenter Board of Directors, Emerson Foundation Board of Directors, Waldron Rise Foundation Board, Pathstone Advisory Board of Directors, and the Greater Rochester Enterprise Board.
In nominating Dan Meyers, current Al Sigl Community of Agencies President Tom O’Connor stated, “Dan's lifelong commitment to service, his visionary nonprofit leadership, and his deeply personal philanthropy embodies Rotary's highest ideal of Service Above Self. For decades, he has strengthened organizations, inspired collaboration, and connected people and resources in ways that have transformed lives across our region and beyond.”
Andrew Gallina, president of Gallina Development Corp. and a past Rotary Award recipient, stated in his letter of support: “What sets Dan apart is the steadiness of his character. He approaches leadership with humility, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to building consensus. His influence is rarely loud, but it is consistently consequential… His leadership has shaped institutions, strengthened partnerships, and advanced the well-being of our community in enduring ways.”

Rochester Rotary will present the award during a reception on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 5:15 to 8 p.m. at the George Eastman Museum. Proceeds from the event will benefit Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp in Dan Meyers’ name.
