Registration Open for Rochester’s New Premier Charity Golf Tournament at Oak Hill Country Club called The Big Shooter Open
Inaugural Event Hosted by Respected Restaurant Leaders of SCN Hospitality to Benefit Golisano Children's Hospital
ROCHESTER, NY (Monday, March 23, 2026) — Registration is now open for The Big Shooter Open, a brand-new, high-end charity golf tournament set to debut on June 15, 2026, at Oak Hill Country Club. Produced by The Shoot Big Project, a newly launched 501(c)(3)* founded by hospitality leaders at SCN Hospitality, the event will benefit Golisano Children's Hospital.
Designed to be the most premier charity golf tournament and summer gathering in the region, The Big Shooter Open will combine championship-style golf on a world-renowned golf course with a thoughtfully curated hospitality experience throughout the day.
The Shoot Big Project was founded by members of the leadership team at SCN Hospitality, the Rochester-based hospitality group founded by Josh and Jenna Miles. The company’s restaurant portfolio includes some of the region’s most notable and sought-after restaurants, including Patron Saint, Branca Midtown, Velvet Belly, Rev BBQ, Bitter Honey, and Ziggy’s. Each restaurant will be featured during the 2026 Big Shooter Open, offering food and beverage experiences across the course for the golfers and attendees.
“We know how to create memorable hospitality experiences, and we started talking about ways to do that fun work for some good this summer, and we knew we wanted to support a charity that works with children,” said Josh Miles, president of The Shoot Big Project. “The Big Shooter Open will be a day that brings people together for incredible golf, great food, and a meaningful cause. Our goal is to create something that’s big and fun and really impactful.”
Throughout the day at The Big Shooter Open, hospitality will be a defining part of the tournament experience. Highlights of the 2026 event will include:
- 18 holes of golf on the East and West Courses at Oak Hill Country Club
- A Masters-inspired box lunch for golfers
- Specialty food and beverage offerings from SCN Hospitality restaurants stationed throughout the course
- While golfers are on the course, spouses and significant others can enjoy an elegant champagne luncheon in Oak Hill’s newly renovated ballroom
- Immersive experiences for all guests throughout the day
Following the tournament, the celebration will continue with a high-end evening event featuring dinner with gourmet grazing stations and access to an open bar with specialty cocktails during this after-party on the newly renovated patio of the Eastern Quad at Oak Hill. Community members who do not participate in golf are welcome to attend the evening festivities. There will be a DJ and dancing.
Each golfer will also receive a premium gift bag featuring curated items, including custom branded merchandise and an exclusive limited edition Big Shooter Rye Whiskey by Kentucky’s Pinhook Bourbon, created specifically for SCN Hospitality restaurants and The Big Shooter Open.
For Miles and the founding members of The Shoot Big Project, including Jenna Miles, Tom and Cathy Riggio, and Gavin and Danelle Brownlie, the decision to support Golisano Children’s Hospital was deeply personal.
