Shamrock Shake® Season Returns to Support Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester
Rochester, NY — McDonald’s restaurants across the Rochester area are bringing back the fan-favorite Shamrock Shake® with a purpose. From February 17 through March 17, local McDonald’s owner/operators will donate twenty-five cents from every Shamrock Shake sold to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester, helping provide comfort, care, and essential resources to families with children who are ill or injured.
The Shamrock Shake has long been connected to the mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities. Sales of the beloved minty treat helped fund the very first Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia in 1974, establishing a legacy of community support that continues today.
Over the past four years, McDonald’s restaurants across New York State have raised a combined $450,000 for local Ronald McDonald Houses in Albany, Rochester, Buffalo, and Syracuse during the annual Shamrock Shake fundraiser. Rochester-area customers alone have contributed $95,650 of that total, demonstrating the powerful impact a community can make together. In 2025, Shamrock Shake purchases in Rochester helped provide 263 nights of lodging, meals, and transportation for families during some of their most challenging times.

To help raise awareness, community members are encouraged to share photos of their Shamrock Shakes on social media using the hashtag #shamrockshakeszn and tagging RMHC Rochester to inspire others to join in the effort.
