Memorial Art Gallery Hosts Black History Month Celebration Day: A Salute to Black Excellence on Sunday, February 8
Rochester, NY, January 29, 2026—The Memorial Art Gallery (MAG) invites the community to celebrate Black History Month with A Salute to Black Excellence: 100 Years of Celebrating Black History on Sunday, February 8, from 12:00 to 4:00 pm.
During this free celebration guests can experience a vibrant afternoon of jazz, blues, hip hop, and more in the Pythodd Tribute Music Lounge, alongside storytelling, dance and vocal performances, art making activities, and additional programming for all ages.
The celebration will also feature specials at Brown Hound Downtown, and a special trunk show in THE STORE @ MAG with Verneda Adele White, founder of Black People Are America’s Hot Sauce® (also known as America’s Hot Sauce). The culturally iconic antiracism platform and merch collection has officially joined the products available in the MAG’s store.
