ROCHESTER, NY, July 03, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Lomax R. Campbell has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Campbell has established himself as a prominent figure in the fields of economic development and entrepreneurship. He is the president and chief executive officer of Third Eye Network (TEN), a multifaceted consultancy that serves a diverse multisector clientele, which he relaunched in the fall of 2020. In this role, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic vision. The agency works with organizations and collective impact partners on transformational projects. Under his guidance, the agency has expanded its reach nationally across numerous states and communities, showcasing its expertise in entrepreneur-led economic development through large conferences and collaborations. Dr. Campbell's role at TEN is complemented by his position as chair-elect on the leadership council of ESHIP Alliance (formerly Ecosystem Building Leadership Network), a growing national network of organizations and people working to advance entrepreneurial ecosystem building as a widely recognized professional practice. He was recently invited to Des Moines, IA by the International Economic Development Council to participate in ELEVATE, a day-long gathering of nearly 70 entrepreneurial leaders from across the U.S. who collaborated to reimagine a stronger, globally relevant Entrepreneurship Development Professional certification for economic development professionals.

For the past two years, TEN served as the third-party administrator and employer of record for the Rochester Economic Development Corporation (ROCEDC) with Dr. Campbell publicly assuming the role of interim chief executive officer. Working with the board and staff, he was instrumental in turning the organization around by improving its financial health, developing a new strategic plan, rebranding the organization, and pursuing entrepreneurial ecosystem building activities with its resource partners that restored community trust. His efforts have also led to the acquisition of a commercial property, marking a significant milestone towards ROCEDC's sustainability. Prior to relaunching TEN in 2020 and assuming responsibility for ROCEDC in 2023, Dr. Campbell co-led a family-owned business called Ballet Afrikana Dance Preparatory Academy with his wife and served as the chief executive officer and managing partner of a social enterprise named Susu Management Group, both established in 2014. Determined to promote economic empowerment in the Black community, he played a pivotal role in launching an online directory called Black-owned Business Rochester—a project of Susu Management Group—organically amassing a list of more than 700 Black-owned businesses in the Rochester community.

Dr. Campbell began his professional journey in February 2003 when he became the understudy of the founder of Third Eye Photography, a creative boutique that specialized in studio, wedding, commercial, and events photography. By the summer, he became a partner in the business and began leading his own assignments. While pursing undergraduate education, he expanded operations to include graphic design and advertising, eventually launching Third Eye Network in 2006. He led the firm until 2012 before moving into academia full-time, holding various roles at Monroe Community College and teaching at Bryant & Stratton College, the Urban League of Rochester, The Enterprise Center at PathStone, and the SUNY Brockport Small Business Development Center along the way. In 2018, he was appointed director of the Mayor's Office of Community Wealth Building for the City of Rochester, a role he held until 2021. Dr. Campbell then returned to lead Third Eye Network full-time, seeking to address persistent social and economic problems within organizations, across communities, and systems nationwide.

Dr. Campbell's academic background includes a Doctor of Management degree, which he earned from the University of Maryland Global Campus in 2019. He also holds an executive Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science degrees in business from the Saunders College of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Dr. Campbell's educational achievements began with an Associate of Science degree in business administration from Monroe Community College in 2005, laying the groundwork for his future success.

Throughout his career, Dr. Campbell has obtained several advanced certifications that bolstered his professional capabilities. These include a certificate of completion in Leading Economic Growth from Harvard Kennedy School of Government's Executive Education program in 2020 and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from Monroe Community College in 2015. Dr. Campbell's commitment to lifelong learning is further evidenced by his certifications as an Emotional Emancipation Circles Facilitator and a Certified Kemetic Yoga Teacher.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Campbell is deeply involved with civic and fraternal organizations. His professional memberships include International Economic Development Council, Association of Change Management Professionals, Project Management Institute, Center for Evidence Based Management, ESHIP Alliance (chair-elect), New York Council of Nonprofits (board member), RIT Saunders College of Business's Management Advisory Board, Greater Rochester Black Business Alliance, Inc. (past president and cofounder), and the Society for Kemetic Yoga. Fraternally, he is a life member of the Eta Rho Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. (past chapter vice president), a member of Eureka Lodge No. 36 Prince Hall Affiliated Free and Accepted Masons (past master), and a member of Gamma Iota Boulé of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, Inc. (secretary). Dr. Campbell's contributions have been recognized with numerous awards such as the Greater Rochester Chamber's MWBE Award in 2024 and 2025, the Secretary's Award for Public-Philanthropic Partnerships from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in 2021, Rochester Business Journal's Forty under 40 award in 2013, Brother of the Year award from the Eta Rho Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Fraternity, Inc. in 2011, and Rochester's Emerging African American Leaders award from Democrat and Chronicle in 2008.

In his personal time, Dr. Campbell is a lover of the arts and culture, which he enjoys at home and abroad with friends and family, especially his wife, Dr. Ashley N. Campbell, and their infant daughter, Ajá-Xola. His hobbies include being a pitmaster, bourbon collector, golfer, and recreational shooter. Looking ahead, he aims to grow his firm significantly, with the establishment of corporate offices in the Midwest and Southwest. His newest venture includes TENACITY Resource Group, an emerging professional employer organization that assists small nonprofits and businesses seeking to become employer firms with human resources, payroll and benefits administration. Other business endeavors involve working with strategic partners to pursue inclusively owned commercial real estate projects with area residents from low-to-moderate income communities.
