Second Annual List of Fastest-Growing, Privately-Owned, Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises Headquartered in Greater Rochester
ROCHESTER, NY (June 18, 2025) – Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce announced the rankings for its second annual MWBE Awards on Wednesday, June 18th at an awards ceremony at the Floreano Convention Center. Close to 400 business and community leaders joined us to celebrate the honorees, as well as other newly certified minority- and women-owned business enterprises (MWBEs) in Monroe County. Upstate Interiors LLC, a union interior construction company specializing in framing, drywall, and ceiling solutions, took the top spot on the list. GP Flooring Solutions and Rochester Specialty Contractors, Inc. rounded out the top three.
In alignment with our core value of inclusion and to create spaces where every voice is heard, valued, and included, the Greater Rochester Chamber MWBE Awards celebrate the ongoing achievements of our region's fastest-growing MWBEs. Greater Rochester Chamber accounting partner Insero Advisors, LLC determines MWBE Award rankings based upon dollar and percentage revenue growth over a three-year period. All revenue information received is kept strictly confidential.
“Our community is rich with diverse stories and opportunities, and we are proud to celebrate the teams who have capitalized on these with our 2025 MWBE Awards program. The 50 honorees on our list are critical to our Greater Rochester economy and business community. Their significant growth despite difficulties and uncertainties is remarkable,” said Bob Duffy, President & CEO, Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce. “Congratulations to all of the businesses recognized this evening. Greater Rochester Chamber is proud to work alongside you to tell your stories and rise together. Thank you to our partners at Insero Advisors, LLC and Monroe County for their contributions to make this event possible, and all of our sponsors and attendees for their continued support of this work.”
The Top 50 MWBEs, ranked by growth percentage, collectively generated over $400 million in local revenues. These businesses span a diverse array of industries, with service prominently represented by 40% of the cumulative revenues, followed closely by the technology industry with 34% of the revenue.
To be eligible for the Greater Rochester Chamber MWBE Awards, businesses must be independent, privately held, headquartered in the Greater Rochester/Finger Lakes region, have a minimum gross revenue of $250,000 in each of the three most recent fiscal years, and have a minimum of 51% ownership, operation, and control by minorities and/or women. The program celebrates economic progress for all employers, regardless of their background.
Additionally, at the ceremony on Wednesday, Monroe County recognized its newest 254 certified MWBEs. Monroe County is committed to providing opportunities for underutilized businesses to grow, build capacity, and create generational wealth. “Minority and women-owned businesses are essential to the strength of our economy, the vitality of our workforce and the inclusive spirit of Monroe County,” said Monroe County Executive Adam Bello. “That’s why my administration made it a priority to establish an MWBE certification program—to ensure more business owners have a fair and equitable opportunity to compete for county contracts. Congratulations to the businesses certified in 2024; they now join the more than 700 businesses that have earned MWBE certification – securing more than $33 million in government contracts since our program’s inception.”
