Greater ROC Global

Greater ROC Global is a talent development and retention program launched by Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce in partnership with inSpring, a national workforce development organization and Talent Mobility Fund grantee.

Designed to address critical talent gaps in the region, the program provides comprehensive recruiting, training, compliance, and retention services to fill talent gaps in critical sectors.

Building on Greater Rochester Chamber’s commitment to connecting and growing talent, Greater ROC Global plays a vital role in strengthening the region’s workforce and fueling economic growth as part of the OneROC alliance.

Greater ROC Global began by launching its Healthcare Center of Excellence that aims to address the critical shortage of skilled clinical talent in Greater Rochester’s healthcare systems. The program connects global candidates with educational opportunities, supports certification completion, and facilitates their transition into the regional workforce. Nearly 100 Registered Nurses from across the globe have relocated to Rochester in the first year of the partnership and are actively working at one of the major hospital systems in the region supporting critical needs of the community. The program additionally boasts industry-leading retention. Read more about how Greater ROC Global partners with regional hospital systems to support their workforce.

From Dream to Reality: My U.S. Nursing Journey [To Rochester] by Ruth Bernard, RN at URMC Strong Hospital, from Nigeria

“I am beyond grateful for the exceptional service I received from the team. From the moment I started my journey, they were incredibly helpful and supportive every step of the way. Their expertise and guidance were invaluable as I navigated the recruitment process. What truly sets InSpring apart is their team's dedication and care. Every member I interacted with was friendly, courteous, and genuinely invested in my success.

Now that I've arrived in the United States and preparing for my new role, the inSpring team remains just as supportive. Their continued assistance and reassurance have eased my transition and made me feel confident and prepared for my new position.

I wholeheartedly recommend inSpring to any nurse looking to pursue a career in the United States.

Thank you, inSpring, for making my journey so smooth and successful. I look forward to starting my new role at URMC and achieving great things with the support of such an amazing team behind me”.

From Rejection to RN Success: Abdul’s Inspiring Journey by Abdul Aziz, MSN, RN

“True success is rarely achieved without sacrifice. Becoming a U.S. Registered Nurse had been a lifelong dream and a goal on my bucket list for many years. After successfully passing my NCLEX and obtaining my RN license, I faced significant challenges during my job search due to not having recent bedside nursing experience. This led to multiple rejections and periods of uncertainty in the H-1B route.

Everything changed after I met the generous and dedicated staff member of the inSpring team, Mr. Corey. His guidance, consistent follow-ups, encouragement, and support transformed what initially felt like a long and difficult journey into a remarkable milestone—achieved within just three months.

inSpring supported me wholeheartedly throughout the entire recruitment process, from initial screening to onboarding. Their professionalism, commitment, and genuine care made all the difference.

Indeed, great experiences do not always come from big names but from sincere people who truly care. I am deeply grateful to the entire inSpring team for making my American nursing dream a reality.”

Together, inSpring and the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce are able to tackle the most significant workforce barriers – and work collaboratively to invest in talent and drive economic growth for the region.

“For years, Greater Rochester Chamber has consistently heard from our members and regional employers that access to high-quality talent has been a limiting factor in their organizational growth. We are excited to launch our Greater ROC Global program to bring new talent into our region, showcasing the vibrant community we live and work in and helping to fill these crucial talent gaps for employers. We are excited to partner with our health systems in this first phase to enable them to better serve our community and access the individuals they need to for their vital work building a strong and healthy workforce.
