Rochester CEOs to Compare Notes on 2027 Planning in New Monthly Insight Series
October 22 session launches a monthly confidential peer discussion series for CEOs, presidents and business owners
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — October 8, 2026 — With the year’s final quarter underway, most business leaders are somewhere in the middle of planning for 2027: setting priorities, weighing investments and deciding what needs to change. On Thursday, October 22, Brooklyn Advisors will bring together eight Rochester-area CEOs, presidents and business owners to compare notes on how they are approaching those decisions.
The session, titled “How’s Your Planning for 2027 Going? Share What’s Working and What’s Holding You Back,” is the first in the OCTET CEO Group Insight Series, a new monthly series of facilitated peer discussions.
There are no presentations or slide decks. Each two-hour session is an interactive conversation between CEOs about what they are working on right now. The series gives CEOs a chance to test for themselves whether peer conversation, and peer review of their plans and obstacles, helps them lead their business to a stronger position.
“Strategic planning is the one job a CEO can’t hand off,” said John Collins, Managing Partner of Brooklyn Advisors. “The team can build the budget and run the models, but only the CEO decides where the company is headed, what deserves investment and what the business is willing to stop doing. Most of us do that thinking alone, with a deadline and nobody to compare notes with. Two hours with other CEOs working on the same question is a good way to find out where your plan is solid and where it needs more work.”
Collins will host and facilitate the discussion.
To encourage a candid exchange, attendance is limited to eight participants and direct industry competitors are screened during registration. What is discussed in the room stays in the room, so leaders can talk about real business decisions without wondering how their comments will travel.
