Community event will bring together local leaders, supporters and community members to raise funds for initiatives serving Rochester.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Strathallan Hotel will host United in Service with Claudia Hoyser on Wednesday, September 30, a fundraising event benefiting the Rochester Police Foundation and its efforts to support public safety and community-focused initiatives throughout Rochester.

The event was inspired by The Strathallan owner Dave Christa, a longtime supporter of the Rochester Police Foundation and numerous charitable organizations throughout the region. Christa’s commitment to giving back to the Rochester community led to the creation of the event at The Strathallan.

“Supporting the Rochester Police Foundation is important to our entire team at The Strathallan,” said Christa. “The Rochester Police Department is an important part of the fabric of this community, and the Foundation provides an opportunity to invest directly in programs and resources that benefit both officers and the neighborhoods they serve. We’re proud to bring people together for an evening that supports that work.”

United in Service will feature live entertainment from a DJ, live music from Claudia Hoyser, food samples, a cash bar, raffles, and a live auction, with proceeds benefiting the Rochester Police Foundation. The evening is expected to include remarks from Christa, longtime Rochester radio personality Pete Kennedy and representatives of the Rochester Police Foundation and Rochester Police Department.

Doors will open at 5 p.m., followed by opening remarks at approximately 5:30 p.m. Rochester-area native and country singer-songwriter Claudia Hoyser will perform at 6 p.m., with entertainment continuing throughout the evening.

For The Strathallan, the partnership represents an extension of its commitment to Rochester and the people and organizations working to strengthen the community.

“Our partnership with the Rochester Police Foundation creates a direct connection between Rochester’s hospitality community and the initiatives helping keep our city strong,” Jay Rettberg. “It gives us an opportunity to support important resources for officers while also encouraging meaningful connections between law enforcement, local businesses and the neighborhoods we all serve.”

The Rochester Police Foundation is an independent nonprofit organization that supports the Rochester Police Department through community and youth outreach programs, equipment and training, assistance for officers and their families, and other resources that may not otherwise be available through traditional funding.
