date
September 1, 2026

Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Bob Duffy reacted to Congressman Nick Langworthy's newly introduced American Quantum Competitiveness Act:

"Quantum technologies are critical to the next generation of computing, communications, and sensing. Creating a unified strategy and concerted focus on emerging technologies is a proven track record for success, creating new jobs and opportunities across our economy. That is exactly what this bill does for quantum technologies. On behalf of our business community, Greater Rochester Chamber appreciates Representative Langworthy's leadership in building a deeper and more strategic connection between industry, research, and government."

Quantum technology is poised to transform computing, communications, and sensing, with significant implications for both America’s economic competitiveness and national security. The legislation would establish the Department of Commerce as the federal lead for commercial quantum technology and develop a national strategy focused on manufacturing, investment, commercialization and trusted domestic supply chains.
