Rochester, NY – The Breast Cancer Coalition is pleased to present the 6th Annual Gynecologic Cancer Webinar Series over the course of September in honor of Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month. This series is free of charge, open to the public, and highly informative for individuals diagnosed with cancer, caregivers, health care professionals, researchers and anyone interested in learning more about a hysterectomy, health and cancer care.

Webinars will take place weekly on Wednesdays from 12:00 – 1:00 PM. Topics include:

  • September 2: Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation, presented by Vicki Hartman, OTR/L, CSOT
  • September 9: Bladder Control, Menopause and Hysterectomy: What You Should Know, presented by Paula J. Doyle, MD
  • September 16: Cancer-Related Cognitive Impairment, presented by Kathryn F. Eszes, MD, MPH, and Michelle C. Janelsins-Benton, PhD, MPH
  • September 23: Managing Osteopenia and Osteoporosis, presented by Oday Karadsheh, MD

Vicki Hartman, OTR/L, CSOT, will facilitate the first webinar this coming Wednesday, September 2, on pelvic floor rehabilitation. "I’m excited to talk with the Breast Cancer Coalition community about how pelvic floor therapy can help people prepare for and recover from gynecologic cancer treatments,” Hartman said. “This won't be all passive listening, either! I’ll also teach simple, powerful breathing and movement practices that may help reduce leaks and pelvic pain."

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and get answers on the spot. ASL interpretation will be provided during the webinar. The Gynecologic Cancer Webinar Series is generously supported by the Saunders Foundation.
