Leveraging HR Services to Overcome Workplace Challenges: Using Benchmarking Data to Make Better Workforce Decisions

In our previous article, we discussed the value of participating in benchmarking surveys and contributing to the data that helps employers understand workforce trends. The next step is putting that information to work by determining which changes will have the greatest impact on attracting and retaining talent while remaining fiscally responsible.  Some of the national benchmarking survey providers that can assist with such a project are Mercer, WorldatWork, and Aon, as well as vendors such as Salary.com and Payscale.

However, the national vendors won't have locally sourced survey data, which is where Greater Rochester Chamber's benchmarking data comes into play.  The chamber conducts 11 wage and benefits benchmarking surveys each year to meet the needs of our members. Results for the surveys listed below have been released in the past 6 months and are available for purchase along with our other surveys, with pricing based on membership tier. Click here to view/print the HR Services brochure and survey order form (surveys may be purchased for internal benchmarking purposes only). Consultants wishing to purchase a copy of these or other surveys for use with clients can request a consultant order form.

This is also an opportunity for HR professionals to demonstrate their role as a trusted partner to their leadership team. By applying survey results into actionable recommendations, HR can help their leadership team align HR practices with business objectives. Our HR Services team is happy to work with HR professionals to apply survey results in a way that is meaningful to their business, helping your business make data-driven decisions that support organizational goals.

If you're a Corporate or Partner tier member interested in participating to receive the complimentary results, click here to sign up for 3rd quarter surveys. Also, both member nonparticipants and nonmembers can purchase any of our surveys by completing and returning the HR Services brochure.
