Farm for All: Homesteads for Hope Expands Community Access in 10th Year
Spencerport Nonprofit Farm Launches Seasonal Campaign to Bring Free Classes and Nature’s Classroom to Learners of All Abilities
SPENCERPORT, NY — June 8, 2026 — As Homesteads for Hope celebrates its 10th season, the nonprofit community farm is launching Farm for All, a new initiative designed to welcome more people into nature's classroom through free classes, workshops, and hands-on learning experiences.
Beginning in July, community members of all ages and abilities will have the opportunity to participate in free weekly classes offered throughout the farm. Programming will include gardening, culinary arts, homesteading skills, floral design, creative arts, woodworking, crocheting, and more.
“We have been here for ten years, and so many people still drive past the farm without knowing who we are or what we do, or if they too are welcome” said Jennyrae Brongo, Founder and CEO of Homesteads for Hope. “Farm for All is our invitation to change that. We want to open our doors, share our mission, and show the whole community how a farm can be a place where everyone grows — their skills, their confidence, and their sense of belonging.”
Classes will be led by Homesteads for Hope staff alongside local community members who are eager to share their knowledge and passions. Programs are designed to be accessible, welcoming, and engaging for participants of all experience levels.
The initiative builds on the farm's longstanding commitment to experiential learning. For the past decade, Homesteads for Hope has provided work-based learning opportunities for students, adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and families seeking meaningful connections through nature, agriculture, and community.
Public registration for July classes opens June 26, with programming running through the end of September.
To support the expansion of free community programming, Homesteads for Hope has launched a $200,000 Farm for All fundraising campaign. Funds raised will help support educational materials, program supplies, facility improvements, and staffing needed to deliver classes at no cost to participants. The campaign has already raised $47,000, and an anonymous donor is matching the first $25,000 contributed by the community.
"The enthusiasm we've seen from our board, supporters, and families has been incredible," said Board Chair Rhonda SanFilipo. "This campaign is about creating opportunities for more people to learn, connect, and belong at the farm."
Community members can support the initiative by making a donation, becoming a Farm Sustaining Member, volunteering, or participating in upcoming classes and events.
Homesteads for Hope also invites the public to attend Thursdays at the Farm, held weekly from June 11 through October 15, featuring live music, food trucks, local vendors, and family-friendly fun.
