New Benefit of Chamber Membership – Cyber Insurance Consortium

date
May 5, 2025

Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce has been exploring new programs to provide members with some cost savings at a time when prices for many things are increasing. We are proud to announce a partnership with Brown & Brown to offer the CYBBER insurance consortium.

What is it?

The cyber insurance consortium consists of member employers purchasing cyber insurance together to create economies of scale, bringing discounts of up to 30% to our members! And this program is only available to chamber members.

Why should your business purchase cyber insurance?
Cyber insurance helps protect your business from the costly impact of cyberattacks, including data breaches, ransomware, and business interruptions. It also provides access to experts and resources to help you respond quickly and recover effectively in the event of a cyber incident.

Benefits of joining the CYBBER Consortium
-  Save up to 30% and negotiate favorable renewals backed by the consortium
-  Partner with leading cyber carriers that offer preferred terms and conditions, and protection when you need it most
-  Access to Legal, IT & Forensics firms to assist before and after a cyber event, the cost of which is often covered by your cyber insurance deductible and insurance
-  Ongoing quarterly professional development opportunities focused on cyber risk management, at no additional cost
-  Each employer in the consortium will have their own policy. And the more your business does to prevent cyber issues, such as training employees, use of multi-factor authentication, etc., the better your rates will be!

Who is eligible to join?
The cyber insurance consortium is available to all industries except Bitcoin and Cannabis related organizations. Otherwise, there is no minimum or maximum size organization; all are welcome!  However, please note that this consortium is currently only open to those not part of an existing consortium through Brown & Brown.

Please join us for a complimentary 30 minute virtual GotoWebinar meeting on May 12th at 10am to learn more about the consortium. Click here to register for the info session.  It will also be recorded to share with members afterward, in case you're not available on that date. If needed, we'll add other sessions in the coming weeks.

Ready to start the cyber insurance quote process now? Please complete the brief survey questionnaire at the link that follows: https://forms.office.com/r/gbw1EjtQy6
We encourage you to print a copy of the cyber questionnaire to share with your internal IT person or your IT vendor to complete the survey and ensure an accurate response. If you are interested in connecting with an IT vendor for assistance with the questionnaire, please let me know.

Coverage for the entire consortium group will go into effect August 1, 2025. We expect quotes will be sent by July 1st to those that request them.

Questions on the cyber insurance consortium can be directed to Kathy Richmond at (585) 256-4618.
