Geared for Growth: Craft Cannery Brings Family Recipes to the Marketplace with Contract Manufacturing Services
Craft Cannery partners with organizations throughout Greater Rochester to manufacture food products and help bring them to stores and more. Pauly Guglielmo was featured on Geared for Growth on Wednesday, July 3rd as part of Greater Rochester Chamber’s ongoing partnership with 13WHAM/FOX Rochester. Guglielmo shared more about what Craft Cannery does, their local partnerships, and his vision for the future of the manufacturer.
Craft Cannery is a contract manufacturer facility that specializes in sauces, dressings, oils, marinades, teas, soups, meat sauces, and more. “Think of it like this: there’s a family recipe that grandma, or mom, or dad always made that’s just famous, we can bottle that,”
Guglielmo explained. Craft Cannery first opened in early 2020 and grew throughout the pandemic. “It was tough because it was hard to find supplies, but it was not a terrible time to start a business selling shelf stable pantry items,” Pauly shared. He noted that early on, it was a good time for their business to not be able to keep products on the shelf.
Craft Cannery produces products that are on shelves in grocery stores throughout the Greater Rochester region and beyond. “A lot of the biggest brands that you know [work with us],” Guglielmo shared, “I know you have had something we’ve made without even realizing it.” Many of the brands that Craft Cannery works with are confidential, however, they do manufacture several of their own in-house brands, including Guglielmo’s Sauces and SLOW.
In April 2024, Craft Cannery broke ground on a new $1.5 million expansion at their facility in Bergen, which will open 6,300 additional square feet of manufacturing space and allow them to expand their operations and serve additional clients. Pauly shared his vision for additional growth over the next ten years as well, sharing that he wants to expand outside of the Greater Rochester region and serve additional small- and medium-sized businesses. “There’s such a high barrier to get manufacturing,” he noted, “[I hope to] make this concept repeatable throughout the country.”
