2023 Young Women of Distinction Award Finalists Announced
Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce and its Women’s Council affiliate are pleased to announce their 2023 Young Women of Distinction Award finalists. The scholarship program supports the Women’s Council’s belief that young women with promise today will become tomorrow’s leaders.
Modeled after the ATHENA Award, the program is designed to discover high school seniors who have displayed outstanding leadership, academic excellence, and involvement in the nine-county Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes region. Four top recipients, one each from the Rochester City School District, Monroe County east, Monroe County west, and the eight regional counties surrounding Monroe, receive a $2,500 scholarship.
The 2023 finalists are as follows:
City School District finalists:
· Ana Fontan, East Upper High School
· Taiasia Gibson, East Upper High School
Monroe County East finalists:
· Lauren Lamberson, Irondequoit High School
· Beatrice Reichman, Penfield High School
· Sophia Seiffert, Our Lady of Mercy
· Alisha Upal, Pittsford Sutherland High School
Monroe County West finalists:
· Sydney Heise, Hilton High School
· Muchima Manengu, Greece Athena High School
· Emma Rosato, Aquinas
Regional Counties finalists:
· Brynn Davis, Naples Central School
· Avery Leonard, Avon High School
· Natalie McFadden, Geneva High School
· Emma McLaughlin, Perry Junior/Senior High School
Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce and its Women’s Council affiliate will recognize the finalists during an in-person celebration on May 2 at OFC Creations Theatre Center located in Winton Place.
