Harris Beach Murtha Named to City & State New York Hall of Fame
Harris Beach Murtha has been recognized by City & State New York in its Hall of Fame: 20 Years of Impact in New York edition.
To mark City & State New York’s 20th anniversary, the publication recognized a select group of businesses, organizations and individuals whose exceptional achievements have helped define New York from 2006 to today.
These honorees were grouped into more than a dozen categories. Most of the categories feature an individual, a nonprofit organization and a for-profit corporation.
City & State New York recognized Harris Beach Murtha in the Law category for being one of New York’s oldest continuously operating law firms, while also noting recent growth.
“Chris Jagel, who joined Harris Beach in 1993 and has led the firm as its CEO since 2017, oversaw the merger of the new entity, which now boasts more than 300 attorneys serving clients in more than 30 areas of law across 19 offices in the Northeast. Jagel, who is based in Rochester, has sought to enhance the firm’s collaborative culture, encouraging staff to become innovative problem-solvers, and expanded its initiatives to support inclusion and diversity.
“This summer, Harris Beach Murtha continued its expansion by acquiring the Boston-based firm Peabody & Arnold as well as Hartford, Connecticut-based boutique law firm Consoli Bortolan Law Group and a business litigator from Kane Kessler, growing its footprint in New England.”
