The Arc of Monroe to hold Inaugural Arc Next Internship Program Ceremony to Honor First Class of Student Interns
ROCHESTER, NY - The Arc of Monroe will celebrate the successful completion of its inaugural ArcNext Internship Program with a recognition ceremony on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 9 am, in Rooms 146/148 at The Arc of Monroe, 2060 Brighton Henrietta Townline Road, Rochester.
The ArcNext Internship Program was created to introduce students to the rewarding careers available in human services while helping cultivate the next generation of professionals in the IDD (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) field. The program reflects The Arc of Monroe's commitment to innovation, workforce development, and investing in future leaders.
"For more than 70 years, The Arc of Monroe has been dedicated to supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities while continually looking for innovative ways to strengthen our mission," said Tracy Petrichick, President and CEO of The Arc of Monroe. "ArcNext represents our commitment to growing the next generation of compassionate professionals by giving students meaningful experiences that inspire them to pursue careers in human services."
The internship program was developed by Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist Kat Murphy, whose vision was to create an immersive experience that connected students with every aspect of The Arc's mission.
"Too often, young people aren't introduced to careers in our field until much later," said Murphy. "ArcNext was designed to spark passion, purpose, and possibility by giving students firsthand experience with the incredible work happening every day at The Arc of Monroe. We hope these interns leave with a deeper understanding of the IDD field and the impact they can make."
The ceremony will include remarks from organizational leadership and presentations by the interns highlighting their summer projects and experiences. The program will conclude with a celebratory toast honoring the interns and the successful launch of ArcNext.
