Child Care Council to Celebrate Provider Appreciation Day® May 10

date
May 8, 2024

ROCHESTER, N.Y., May 8, 2024 – Child Care Council Inc. will join community organizations across the country in observing Provider Appreciation Day on Friday, May 10, 2024, to celebrate the efforts of local child care providers and educators of young children.

Child Care Council CEO Jeff Pier said, “It is important to take the time to celebrate the incredible work of child care providers and early educators. Child Care Council is proud to take part in the national Provider Appreciation Day, but, of course, we need to appreciate our community’s child care providers and early educators year-round.”

Provider Appreciation Day is celebrated annually the Friday before Mother’s Day to recognize child care providers, teachers and other educators of young children everywhere. It was started in 1996 by a group of volunteers in New Jersey, who saw the need to recognize the tireless efforts of providers who care for children of working parents. Support for this event has grown each year and recognition presently includes Child Care Resource and Referral agencies, child care advocates, community-based organizations, government entities, business leaders, families and individuals throughout the United States, proudly convened by Child Care Aware of America.
