Peter J. Glennon Publishes Book on Non-Compete Agreements

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Jan. 11, 2024 — Health care professionals considering making a career change can benefit from a new book authored by Peter J. Glennon, founder of the Glennon Law Firm, P.C.

“Am I Stuck In This Practice?” is a guide about non-compete agreements for doctors, nurses, dentists and other health care providers. It provides insight into what health care providers need to know before accepting or changing jobs, including options for avoiding a non-compete agreement, whether these agreements are enforceable, and how providers can control their careers.

Peter J. Glennon says the first guide is particularly timely given the Biden administration’s proposed nationwide ban on non-compete agreements: “There is much discussion at the federal level about non-compete agreements, and this book can help health care providers navigate the complexity of these agreements. In my experience, most doctors, dentists and other health care employees prefer not to have non-compete agreements, but most of them don't mind them as long as the employer doesn't misuse them and is reasonable when faced with a difficult personal situation.”

The book is the first in a series of Glennon Guides, which will cover such topics as employment law, business partner disputes, trust and estate litigation, and high-asset matrimonial matters.

An award-winning litigator, Peter J. Glennon offers practical solutions for clients facing business litigation, partnership disputes, non-compete agreement, employment law, trust and estate disputes, gray divorces, complex matrimonial matters and more.
