Geared for Growth: T-Mobile Opens New State-of-the-Art Customer Experience Center
T-Mobile’s new Customer Experience Center is an innovative facility in Henrietta, NY that is creating up to a thousand new jobs for our region. The CEC provides unique opportunities for T-Mobile employees to enjoy their jobs, advance their careers, and make a real difference for T-Mobile customers around New York and across the country.
Larry Petrone, Director of the new Customer Experience Center, was featured on Geared for Growth this week as part of Greater Rochester Chamber’s ongoing partnership with 13WHAM/Fox Rochester. Petrone shared his own career journey with T-Mobile, what types of jobs the facility is currently hiring for, and the exciting amenities and opportunities the Customer Experience Center will offer to its employees.
Larry shared that he has been working for T-Mobile for eighteen years, starting as a sales associate at Eastview Mall in Victor, then rising through the ranks with the company and spending the past fifteen years in New York City. When an opportunity arose in his hometown of Greater Rochester, he was excited to take over as Director of the new facility in Henrietta.
In his new role, Petrone is excited to give the same opportunities he was afforded to others looking to advance their careers working for the organization. “The career opportunities with T-Mobile are really like no other. I’ve grown my career here and many of the folks we have in the building early on have grown their careers with T-Mobile, and it’s really just a fantastic place to build a career,” he shared.
T-Mobile just finished their first round of hiring for positions open at the new center. “The community’s response was absolutely incredible,” Petrone noted, “We had over 1,200 applicants for our first openings.” For those looking to apply, he also shared that they will resume hiring in January for Account Associate positions. The Customer Experience Center was designed to be more than just an office. “Our building has a fitness center, a movie theater, a 6,000 square foot rec center with a basketball court, game rooms, and more. It’s a fun place to be,” Larry shared. He shared that T-Mobile loves both their customers and their employees and it’s important to them to prioritize both stakeholder groups. “We want to give them a place where people enjoy coming to work,” he explained, “We’re excited to be one of the premier employers in Rochester.”
