Master Social Worker Julie Chapus, in collaboration with RWN (Rochester Women's Network), is proud to present "A Way Out: Miss Julie's School of Beauty" Tour & Info Session, scheduled for November 14, 2023, from 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM ET.

Miss Julie's School of Beauty is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at providing a safe haven for victims of human trafficking. The event invites community members to engage in a powerful discussion and tour of the school's new space located in downtown Rochester.

The event will commence under the clock tower, with convenient parking available on East Main Street or in St Joe's Garage, attached on the 1st and 2nd floor of the Sibley Square.

Join Julie Chapus for a crucial discussion on the global and local impact of human trafficking. Dispelling common misconceptions, the talk aims to shed light on the insidious, hidden, and often surprising facts surrounding this atrocity.

Miss Julie’s School of Beauty will serve as a cosmetology school for survivors of human trafficking, offering education within a supportive community. Recognizing the challenges faced by survivors, the school aims to provide a hopeful and empowering path towards a stable future.

About Julie Chapus, LMSW:
Julie Chapus is a licensed Master Social Worker with extensive experience in the field. Recognizing the need for stable income for survivors of human trafficking, she pursued cosmetology education and, in 2021, obtained her cosmetology instructor license. Julie's expertise has been acknowledged by various experts, including those from the FBI child exploitation task force and domestic violence experts Stop Abuse Campaign.

She has conducted training sessions for local salon professionals and presented at esteemed institutions such as RIT, Nazareth, and Roberts Wesleyan University. Julie is slated to present at the Office of Mental Health Statewide Conference in November 2023.

Julie is also working towards creating a network of resources to support victims and establish a permanent means of escape from trafficking through the first school of its kind in the USA.
